Hazel Caro Hume - Glass Studio

I create contemporary glass suncatchers, jewellery, and sculptural objects through kiln fusing and heritage stained glass techniques, including the copper foil method. Each piece begins with hand-selected materials, chosen for their colour, texture, and the way they capture light. I cut every fragment of glass by hand, shaping compositions that balance delicacy and strength. In the kiln, fusing feels like a quiet alchemy — transforming fragments into luminous new forms. Working from my home studio in Western Australia, I draw inspiration from life’s contrasts, the ethereal and the luminous, and the 'salty and healing' sea of Wardandi Boodja. My work seeks to capture fleeting beauty and evoke stillness, wonder, and a glimmer of daily joy.
