Jodies Junk Art

I’ve been welding together pieces of rusty metal ,tools , machinery & scrap for the last 20 years, using a Stick Welder. I’ve taught myself to use a plasma cutter & LPG/oxy set for bending & shaping.I like to make pieces that reflect nature, animals, birds & people doing things they love. Inspiration comes from the very pieces they are made of OR a book /story/idea . I use old pieces of used metal that have been discarded & turn them into much loved sculptures that people can recognise or relate to.Over the years I’ve exhibited regularly at “Artitude” Telethon Speech & Hearing Exhibition, “Bazaar”- FreoArtCentre Xmas Market, “Art Extraordinaire”- BCC Exhibition, “Art@PC” – Perth College, SBB Dunsborough. Most of the exhibitions I show at, take commission as a Fundraising exercise – This gives me great pleasure to be able to support them – which I couldn’t do otherwise.I’ve been involved in Teaching Students at a Rural District High School and also small groups of women who would like to weld .. Its amazing, Full-On & very rewarding to be able to impart my knowledge to those who wish to learn.
