Sue Hodgins

I first discovered pottery over forty years ago, long before my children were born. The rhythm of the wheel, the feel of clay between my hands, and the quiet focus it brought stayed with me, even as life moved through its many chapters. After my husband passed away, I found myself drawn back to clay — at first as therapy, then as a way to meet new people, and to rediscover a sense of purpose in retirement. What began as a way to fill the days slowly became a vital part of my life again.I’ve now been practicing pottery for nearly seven years and have my own studio at home. It’s a space of calm and creation, where each piece reflects both the passage of time and the enduring joy of making. Pottery, for me, is not only about form and function, but also about connection — with the material, with others, and with myself.
