The Tree Street Art Safari returns to Bunbury’s Tree Streets on Saturday 20 March 2027, from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

Registrations will open in September 2026 for artists, artist groups, food and beverage vendors, musicians and performers. We are also welcoming expressions of interest from new host homes.

Whether you can accommodate one artist or five, every new garden, veranda or outdoor space helps us bring this much-loved community event to life.

Who Can Apply?

Artist registrations are open to professional, established, emerging, youth and student artists and artisans who live and work within the Geographe region, from Busselton to Preston Beach. Artist groups working within the region are also encouraged to apply. Proof of residence or connection to the Geographe region may be requested. All applications are reviewed by the Tree Street Art Safari committee, and incomplete applications will not be accepted.

2027 Registration Fees

• Tree Street resident artist: $80

• Single artist: $95

• Emerging or youth artist (25 and under) : $60

• Artist groups: $45 per person

• Food trucks and general beverage vendors: $85

• Invited wineries and distilleries: $90, plus applicable liquor licensing costs

• Musicians and performers: Free

• Host homes: Free

Artists and Artisans

The Tree Street Art Safari gives artists a unique opportunity to exhibit and sell their work within the gardens and outdoor spaces of Bunbury’s Tree Streets.

Participating artists receive:

• A listing in the official printed event map

• An artist profile, contact details and featured artwork on the Tree Street Art Safari website

• Opportunities to be featured across our Facebook and Instagram pages

• An Artist Welcome Pack containing important event information and promotional or signage materials for the day

• The opportunity to connect with thousands of visitors and sell work directly to the public

• Commission-free sales, with artists retaining 100% of the proceeds from artwork sold during the event

Our artists achieved more than $82,000 in art sales at the 2026 event, providing valuable support for creative practices across the region.

Before You Register

We recommend preparing the following:

• A short artist statement of approximately 35 words

• Three high-quality images of your artwork

• JPEG images between approximately 2.5MB and 5MB

• Your name, artwork title, medium and dimensions included in each image filename Example: Jane Doe_Wild Seascapes_Oil on canvas_10x10cm

• An optional portrait of you in your studio or creative space, particularly if you are joining us for the first time

Your submitted feature image is an important part of your event promotion and may be used in the printed map, on the Tree Street Art Safari website and across our social media and marketing. Please choose a clear, high-quality image that provides the strongest possible representation of your work.

Poor-quality images may not be included in promotional material. All participating artists must be registered and approved by the Tree Street Art Safari committee. Artists cannot share their allocated exhibition space with an unregistered artist, and host homes cannot include unregistered artists at their venue.

Applications that do not meet the registration requirements may be declined and refunded,less a $20 administration fee. Registration fees are non-refundable if an artist withdraws or the event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

How Artist and Host Allocations Work

We strongly encourage artists to help us grow the Safari by reaching out to friends, family or other contacts who live within Bunbury’s Tree Streets and may be interested in becoming a new host.

If you have arranged to exhibit with a particular host—or would like to be placed with other artists—please coordinate your applications and clearly name each other on both the artist and host registration forms. We will do our best to keep requested artists and hosts together, provided everyone has registered and the location is suitable.

Artists are also very welcome to apply without arranging their own host. Once requested placements have been considered, remaining artists will be allocated among the available host locations. These placements will depend on the space, accessibility and suitability of each property, so we cannot guarantee a particular host or location.

Finding a new host gives artists the best opportunity to exhibit together or secure their preferred location, while also helping us welcome more homes and artists into the Safari.

Host Homes

Our host homes are at the heart of the Tree Street Art Safari. Without the generosity of local residents opening their gardens and outdoor spaces, this community event would not be possible.

Hosting can be as simple as offering a small section of your front garden, verandah or driveway for one or two artists. Larger properties may choose to welcome several artists or other event activities.

There is no fee to become a host, and our committee will support you throughout the planning process. Hosts must have current home and contents insurance. By registering, you confirm that your

property is appropriately insured. When completing the host form, please let us know:

• How many artists you may be able to accommodate

• Whether your property has wheelchair or accessible entry

• Whether you could host musicians or another event activity

• Whether an accessible outdoor toilet is available for visitors

Hosts are not expected to allow visitors inside their homes.

Food and Beverage Vendors

The Safari attracts thousands of visitors throughout the day and has previously delivered exceptional results for participating food vendors.

Food and beverage vendors must provide:

• Current public liability insurance

• A valid food business registration certificate, where applicable

• Any permits or approvals required to trade at the event

Vendors selling alcohol are responsible for applying for and purchasing the appropriate liquor licence for the event. Proof of the approved licence must be provided to the Event Coordinator before the Safari.

Musicians and Performers

We love filling the Tree Streets with live music and are always looking for musicians, buskers and performers from across the Geographe region.

There is no registration fee for musicians and performers, and the Safari is a wonderful opportunity to share your work with a friendly and engaged local audience.
